Dear Ford F-150 owners,

If you find yourself and someone special deciding to hop in the back seat of your F-150 crew cab for some discrete and spontaneous parking lot intimacy......

You should know that the factory alarm has an interior motion sensor. :shok:

Hitting the panic button on the remote will shut off the alarm, but it does not deactivate it.

After it goes off the second time, you discover that there is an alarm setting in the vehicle settings. This is where you change the alarm settings to 'Perimeter Alarm'.

On a positive note, if you started to walk in to Walmart.and a sign reminded you that you left your kids in the truck.....

This alarm is probably for you.

BTW, I wish this would have been how I discovered this. My story is less exciting. On my way to Ohio I stopped in a rest area in Kentucky to get a couple hours of sleep. My apologies to my fellow weary travelers. 😉

built, not bought
Im guessing it would also go off if you left the dog in the truck while you go in to pay for gas and grab a soda & chips.

How long did it take me to find this?

In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they are different.
Ya know. Before the second post, I was thinking.

"Alright! Jim still has it going on!" And " oh, poor Jim. I wonder how many people came to his embarrassingly unneeded rescue."

I didn't ask for your life story, just answer the question!
That explains it... I was wondering how everyone knew what was going on in the back seat and why they kept honking at me.

I work in fuel tanks for a living. Don't judge me!
On a happy note, the 2019 Ranger does not have that feature. My alarm never went off while sleeping in the bed.

It’s an interior motion sensor... last I checked, the bed isn’t the interior.

Unless you have the cab in the bed, but I hear that they don’t fit... or something like that.

I misunderstood then. I was thinking it was a general motion sensor that would pick up motion of the vehicle.

Glad I don't have a new F-150. Glad my 2004 Heritage Edition is a simple two seat truck. Makes me even more sure I will never ever buy a new vehicle again.

But the kid thing. Sure does happen a lot where I live. Just the other day a three year old kid died after being left in the back seat of some vehicle for over six hours. WTF? Are people really that STUPID? I guess they are. Like I said, seems to happen a lot here.

It is a stupid scary thought.

Kinda glad I have a Supercab so little guy has to ride up front with me. Not the safest but we are not exactly running a high traffic area to daycare either.
