Been doing some research and was wondering how many people have done a sas with full width 79 f-350 Dana 60? I can do all the fab work. Just wondering how you guys like it? Was it worth it in your own opinion?

Depends on what you are planning on doing with it. I did one. Several other member on here have done them in the past. I don't use anything besides a 60 front now.

I plan on beating on it. Using it around the farm to clear trails pull trees and the occasional mud bog. I'll drive it on the road a bit but not much. Dana 60 front Corp 14 rear 347 and zf5. That's the idea. I'd like to stick with leaves in the front.

Mine is narrowed. Still wider than stock width, but I narrowed it down. I used a 94 D60 for mine.

My credo
it is easier to fix and understand than "her"
the later axles are good for later gm swaps, the 79 kp style is perfect for rangers.

just build some offset hanger brackets to run some gm leaf springs and a histeer arm on the passenger side and you can use the stock long side steering link to steer it initially.

if you like it, buy all the nice shit to build a trac bar and heavy duty steering.

the dana 60 is overkill for the vast majority of ranger abusers, but i love it... i still break shit though and it is really expensive to replace normal wear parts.

it is heavy and noticeable compared directly to a dana 35 tb, but at my ride height its welcome for cog. combine that with full width and the handling is quite acceptable with 37 in tires on the hi-way and the 2 lane twisties.
