Would I be able to make it work on the rear of a Ranger?

The best way is like the guy in the Pirate thread, but with a modified D44 beam....D44 beam with the outer C section from a D50 welded on. The passenger D50 and D44 beams are basically the same length, but the drivers D50 beam is much shorter than the D44.

I'm working on something similar as in the Pirate link, but using a D44 drivers beam, a cut/turn, and I'm going to work on getting a 35 spline carrier in the D50 center section.

I saw your thread over on FSB. I'd like to see how it turns out. I've been thinking about a D44/50 hybrid rear for my Ex for the past few years.

From reading in that jeep thread it seems they are close in length just the mounting points are different which is why people think it is so much shorter.
