I made this up over the weekend and thought I'd share. The over the axle exhaust for the V8 interfered with the rear sway bar so I removed it. From prior experience, this causes the body to pitch violently left and right when off road because the body follows the front axle. I wanted a front bar for the on road stuff, so I machined and welded up a disconnect for the driver's side.
The pin and hairpin clip came from Tractor Supply. It's 1/2" and had to be machined down to approximately .480" to fit the metal sleeve of the link. The holes in the axle bracket were significantly larger than 1/2", requiring bushings to be welded to the bracket. They must fit snug or the pin will make noise.
