Getting a 4 inch lift soon and i was wondering if my dana 28 would handle 31 inch mud's?

it will if ur easy with it but it wont last long time the u joints wore out on mine quick and its hard on the bearings too.

i got 33s on mine and i havent had a problem yet but i dont mud every day

I ran 30s no problem for a while. D28 broke, but it had nothing to do with the tires.

I ran 31s for quite a while. The u-joints were pretty hammered at the end, but never blew.

i'm running 31's on mine and no problems so far. no complaints either as i like my tires tall and skinny. maybe it's the wider tires that have more problems... idk.

33s three tire changes later no probs i dont go 4x4in all the time but i do go on weeked trips shooting and riding with my family and friends no problems yet

I ran mudders on a D28 for a few years. Just be aware that you WILL break a shaft at some point .

Thanks guys. Im gonna run a my dana 28 for a while until i am able to do a dana 35 swap or until it breaks.

looks like ill be purchasing some spare u joints =]

I run 31x10.50x15 (about 200 miles a day as DailyDriver) for a year no probs yet. I did update my wheel bearings to Quality American Made wheel bearings and high Quality mobile 1 Wheel Bearing grease.

I also havent mudded in a while (since my 07 Taurus got repossessed and hada start driving 89 for work)
