dana 28 axle shaft removal

please correct me if i am wrong but if i read the tech libary right i can remove my left side axle shaft while leaving my sterring knuckle on.

It comes out through the hole after removing the wheel spindle.

thanks sounds easy enough to do myself. i was afraid that the knuckle had to come off.

Be very careful of the spindle 'snout'. The threads are fine and damage easily. You will most likely have to pound it loose and this is dangerous. If you can avoid pounding at all that will be better. LMC Truck sells them still, but they are around $250 a piece.

It has 5 nuts (rather small) holing it on. Once those are loose it is sorta pressed into the knuckle. That is the part that's hard to break free.
