I have a 91 2.9l a4ld 4x4. Found a 2000 explorer xls for 600 with no title. Pretty sure it is a 4.0 would the drive train basically be drop in with some wiring mods?

Yes, but the wiring tends to be the problem. The EFI engines wont run without it. Do some research in the tech library, it should have the info you need. I get confused on the PATS anti-theft system, but some years had that and it can cause swap problems also.

So basically I would think if I used the column from the explorer that would allow the use of the pats system

I would guess that if you use the column AND swap the entire wiring/computers over you'd avoid all the issues. Dash swap it even-
but I'm not sure as I have no practical experience with this. (Doing an 88 STX project now.) There are Plenty of threads w/ PATS issues to research here.

2000 will have the ECU in a different location. It'll get complicated real fast. Maybe easier to make new mount for newer computer?

I have another option to get a 4.0 mo5 combo from a 95 ranger. However the ranger 4.0 was overheating so needs a rebuild
