Hey everyone, love the website.

I got my truck off of craigslist for ... a tool trade. I think we both valued the deal around $500. Well... here in California, passing smog is required to change ownership. Here is a list of things done in the last year, and things to-do.

Done:
- New Fuel filler hose (pretty easy)
- Smog pass (phew)
- New Throttle Position Sensor (easy)
- New headliner (Pain in the ass)
- New fuel filter (messy)
- New Power steering pump, plumbing, and gearbox (local shop)
- New auto trans vacuum line (the source of many woes)
- New control relays (shop)
- New master brake cylinder (shop)
- All new fluids for motor, tranny, power steering, brake, coolant.
- New AC Unit and plumbing (This was gifted to me)
- New seatbelts (done while doing the headliner)
- New... Skyjacker132x coils, Tuff Country 20813 Axle Drop Brackets, Pro Comp Shocks, Rear Add A Leafs, James Duff radius Arm Bushings, Energy Suspension Axle Pivot Bushings (all installed by 4WheelParts).
- New Rear side panel window ($15 on ebay)
- Front window (Safelite)
- Rear side and back window tinting (easy)
- Cleaning the heck out of the inside (not so fun)
- New 15x7Wheels and 31x10.5.15 tires with 20% tread (craigslist - $100)
- New brake pads ($615 quote from Firestone and a big **** you... then installed myself and paid $40 for new pads, anti rattle clips, and caliper pins)..

Going to do...
- Install new Brake Rotors
- New evap grommet to fuel tank
- Fix Passenger door so it opens
- Get Snug top (picking up a black one from craigslist tomorrow for $75)
- New tailgate
- New Driver seat
- New 31 Mud terrains or aggressive ATs
- Prep for paint job
- Get cheap paint job and paint truck and camper shell in a dark dark cabernet red.
- Enjoy my new rig

And now, without further delay...

Awesome man, nice ride and trade:icon_thumby: I'll say it again, man I love Craigslist! That's how I got my truck. I traded my 95 ford Taurus even for my Ranger. Posted on Craigslist for the trade and in about three weeks the guy emailed and we did the deal even steven!:D

I like em so far... but I have not put it to the test really. The invoice says 2 x ES3000 Shock and 2 x 326500 Shock.

BY FAR, the biggest difference I have felt in the suspension upgrades is going from 235/75/15's to 31x10.5x15 tires. Since then, my steering is tighter (in a good way), the tires and rims are more balanced - much smoother ride, and the extra 2 inches of air cushioning absorbs bumps much better, and finally somehow, without getting an alignment, it is aligned as good as it ever has been!!! Feels great!

Lots of searching for "ranger" in "auto parts" and "cars by owner". I wasn't being picky about the make at the time, but now I'm glad it is a Ford. I also like seeing what a search on "4x4" and max amount set to $2000 brings up. And patience and timing.

Here's my new (cough) used gem top from craigslist today ($75). I have some cleaning up and work to do on it, but it should be perfect for camping. Notice how the camper shell brings out the dark faded gray in my STX stripes? LOL.

Oh that oil.. ehheh. that was from my power steering issues that have long been solved.

Now for my slipping tranny (grr).

nice pick-up for $75, it's in rough shape, but a little bondo and some spray paint will make it look great.

the tranny in my BII used to slip, then it blew up.....nice ride though, craigslist is the shit
