Hey everyone, love the website.
I got my truck off of craigslist for ... a tool trade. I think we both valued the deal around $500. Well... here in California, passing smog is required to change ownership. Here is a list of things done in the last year, and things to-do.
Done:
- New Fuel filler hose (pretty easy)
- Smog pass (phew)
- New Throttle Position Sensor (easy)
- New headliner (Pain in the ass)
- New fuel filter (messy)
- New Power steering pump, plumbing, and gearbox (local shop)
- New auto trans vacuum line (the source of many woes)
- New control relays (shop)
- New master brake cylinder (shop)
- All new fluids for motor, tranny, power steering, brake, coolant.
- New AC Unit and plumbing (This was gifted to me)
- New seatbelts (done while doing the headliner)
- New... Skyjacker132x coils, Tuff Country 20813 Axle Drop Brackets, Pro Comp Shocks, Rear Add A Leafs, James Duff radius Arm Bushings, Energy Suspension Axle Pivot Bushings (all installed by 4WheelParts).
- New Rear side panel window ($15 on ebay)
- Front window (Safelite)
- Rear side and back window tinting (easy)
- Cleaning the heck out of the inside (not so fun)
- New 15x7Wheels and 31x10.5.15 tires with 20% tread (craigslist - $100)
- New brake pads ($615 quote from Firestone and a big **** you... then installed myself and paid $40 for new pads, anti rattle clips, and caliper pins)..
Going to do...
- Install new Brake Rotors
- New evap grommet to fuel tank
- Fix Passenger door so it opens
- Get Snug top (picking up a black one from craigslist tomorrow for $75)
- New tailgate
- New Driver seat
- New 31 Mud terrains or aggressive ATs
- Prep for paint job
- Get cheap paint job and paint truck and camper shell in a dark dark cabernet red.
- Enjoy my new rig
And now, without further delay...
