Sometimes I want to turn off my dome light and leave the doors open. What are my options?

You would have to put an override switch in between the LH door jamb switch and the dome light.

I figured I'd splice into the door jamb switch and mount a rocker switch on the dash. I went to remove the plastic panel on the left side of the truck (next to my left foot), but the screws on my threshold are frozen and the threshold is holding part of the plastic panel. Are the light wires accessible behind the plastic panel, or is it a metal wall behind that plastic panel? I plan on drilling off the heads of the threshold screws but I wondered if someone had an easier idea. Is there another dome lamp with an on/off button in the lamp fixture?

Have you tried tapping the end of screwdriver with a hammer on those screws? Not sure I've seen a factory dome lamp with an override.

I think you are gonna have to pick up the dome lamp wire NORTH or after the door ajar switch... like up in the A-pillar.

I've smacked a screwdriver with a hammer and then sprayed them with some Kroil penetrating oil, let it sit over night and smacked some more.
Only one came loose. Working in the A-pillar would be fine. The less time on my old knees the better. Not this coming week.....too busy.

Mine were frozen too, I had to use vise grips to remove them.

That's what I figured. Drill off heads remove threshold and get the vise grips.
