It sounds awful that tax money is going to businesses, except for 2 things that aren't said (1) in many cases the money isn't a gift it's a loan that will have to be repaid and (2) after Covid is gone people are going to need jobs to return to. My biggest gripe was the $25,000,000 for the JFK center for performing arts! What does that have to do with the country surviving the next few months?

Do your best to be your best.
Two counties announced their first cases of Coronavirus. They are directly west of us.
I reckon it's only a matter of days that it will be in our county.

Changed the oil and filter and battery in the tractor today. Greased 'er up and mowed for three hours. Two more hours of mowing tomorrow and then onto the next projects. Should be 90* tomorrow. Farmer sprayed the grass fields yesterday, and harrowed the third field today.
Farm people seem to be working as usual.
Went to NAPA for some filters, and they had a yellow tape on the floor, running from the front door to the back of the store. There were signs saying not to cross the yellow line. That kept you six feet from the counter. I tossed the clerk my credit card and he handed me the bag of filters. I've been shopping there for 24 years so I know them well. When I opened the door and saw the tape on the floor, I hollered to Casey, the manager....."am I gonna have to do a sobriety test before I can buy anything?' Then I walked the line.......with my hands over my eyes and both feet tied behind my back. :derisive:

Your feet tied behind your back? What kind of sobriety tests have you been through?!

The marine patrol told a friend of mine to say the alphabet backwards. Needless to say he failed. Who wouldn't? I would have been inclined to start with F U.

This thing just keeps getting worse... it will most likely be the worst Friday in our history there. However it will probably be the best thing overall.... stay home... limit exposure... limit the speed of the spread... get it out of here.

It appears that there are already families and kids going hungry in the community in which I operate. I was approached by a couple local churches to see what could be done to feed the kids that depend on the school lunches and their families. I know they bought 30 pizzas today to distribute and my manager said today was the third straight day of a similar order. I'm not sure how much I can provide... but I'm going to do what I can to support their effort. After all... these are the very people that made my place a success...

I can't decide whether to like or stick a sad face on your post, Uncle Gump. No emoji covers this. I'm really sorry. Thanks for trying to help the groups ensuring people are getting fed.

I'm in the same boat. I want to react to his post but don't know whether to like it or be sad about it.

The solution to that problem here has been to make lunches "to go" that can be picked up at the schools, the YMCA, and a few other community organizations.
