i'll be out 2 weeks minimum starting today at 5.... They said good luck filing unemployment. People can't even get through to unemployment which isn't anything new but it's new to me. I've NEVER had to file unemployment..... I've always worked and have only gone a few weeks where I didn't work... This sucks.

If this virus killed everyone that came in to contact with it, we'd probably lose at least half of the people in the world.

It's amazing how ignorant people are. People don't seem to have enough sense or survival skill to take care of themselves. They needlessly go out in public, don't distance themselves, and gather in groups. Not everyone that has died from this has been old either. I just read where a group of young people had a Coronavirus party in defiance of social distancing, and now one of them has the virus. It's like a global case of Russian Roulette.

Here's the latest numbers of the top three infected countries:

81,872 - China
74,386 - Italy
69,684 - United States

Remember when Trump acted like it wasn't going to happen here? Our numbers are growing dramatically every day. He wants everything to open back up by Easter, which is just a couple of weeks away. He's more worried about the economy than human life. It reminds me of one of the movies where sailors on a sub are sent in to a room one by one to try and repair the reactor, knowing they will die from the exposure. Sacrificing lives to keep something working. Look at China's number. That's after a total lock down. The Coronaidiots here are still walking around spreading it. I won't be surprised if we exceed China's number.

The new name for this should be "Feces Quia Cerebrum-19".

As of now roughly 69000 people in the USA are infected, as of 2018 the US population was 3.27 million.

That means 0.021% of the population has it.

By comparision...

Aids/HIV <1%
Diabetes 10.2%
Heart Issues/diesese 48.2%
Chance of cancer diagnosis 39% men 37 women.
Amount of fatal accidents a year 32000 (average)

So while this is a contagious, fast moving sickness in reality is it really worse then anything else we deal with on a daily basis?

rusty, every stat you listed is built up or acquired over a long period of time. Like the 32,000 auto fatalities, which is for a year. Other stats are for long term diseases, not something that just started a few months ago, and continues to grow in ###. You don't just catch Aids and die 2 weeks later, or pass on diabetes to your wife by kissing her.
At the rate this virus is growing we will catch up to Italy shortly, and surpass China in a matter of a few weeks.
You have to look at the numbers. 2 months ago, 1 case, 3 weeks ago, single digit's. Now, thousands.
Not a totally fair comparison, but as an example, the flu epidemic of 1917-1918 started with just a few persons, probably US soldiers bringing it home from Europe. In Europe and the US in just a few months it spread with about 500 million people becoming infected worldwide, and 50 million people dying from it. Almost 3/4 of a million people in the US died from it.
So, don't think this won't spread if given a chance.
