Converter question

When I put the gas pedal to the floor for example to pass someone, my 4.0 liter has no power and is making Wierd noises like a misfire but the check engine light doesn't flash, I was told that my catalytic converter is plugging up, could this be it or does anyone have any other ideas. Thanks

Could be one of many possibilities. You need to pull the codes first and foremost.

Ok thank you, I have a snap on code scanner and I will take a picture of the codes, this was a used engine swap, and I had the misfire on 5 and 6 question and you guys helped me and I had no codes until I tried to pass and the light came on and I just wanted to give up but I can't drive it like this

Whenever you have a problem that only occurs under heavy load like that its usually a fuel pressure issue or clogged exhaust. There are other things that can cause it so thats where getting the codes can help out. Let us know what comes up on the scanner. Check both active and pending codes.
