the XDs didn't have the recoil I expected... maybe I just expected to much.

The Shields are awesome. I'm thinking about picking one up... trying to talk myself out of it. I love my XDm 45.. it's the only thing keeping me from buying the Shield.

yeah knife clipped to jeans pocket, flashlight in pocket. I thought the size of the light might annoy me but I rarely notice it is there... I could have bought a single cell but the one I have works fine for me.

It works good, I can hide a 4" fixed blade and shield at 4:00 and never be seen. I'm a pretty small guy also at 5'11" 150lb

There is something to be said for knives...

On an average day I have three knives on or about my person

Knives don't get "empty"

Knives are QUIET.

only a vanishingly small percentage of people will try to "grab at" a knife
(many more will actually try to grab at a gun)
