Is the bottom left a CL-2 or CL-1?

CL-2/288. Average condition.

There was also a Powerhouse lantern from '86, I don't have one of those. Basically a 220 size lantern with adjustable brightness.

I would like the powerhouse but $35 +frt gets painful.

CL-1 is intriguing but I never see them.

Its been pretty slim pickings in general, I have inquired about a couple but they never respond back.

Yeah.... it's not a rare lantern by any means, I thought even $35 for it was too much. Probably would have jumped at $20 though.

Ermagerd. Now I need one of those.

Haven't tried out the oven yet... I've moved it between workbenches about 34 times but haven't had time to clean it out yet. Maybe if it's nice out over Thanksgiving weekend I'll dig into it while I'm smoking a ham.

I didn’t know those even existed. How small is that thing. 6” tall?

Not that little. Guesstimating around a foot. I have only ever seen pictures. I think kinda big to stuff in a backpack... probably why they are scarce.

At one time, a few of the companies making blended fuel canister stoves offered lanterns that with the same lindel valve setup. They were reasonably light and significantly smaller than the Coleman liquid fuel versions because the fuel was contained separately. I haven't seen one in ages though.
Edit - I was wrong, they do still exist. Here's one from Primus:

Yeah, gas powered backpack lanterns don't sound terribly practical in general for backpacking.

I figured everybody had gone led by now.

There was a time when you'd still see them pretty regularly. And maybe it's just that I don't backpack with same groups of people anymore (like Scout troops when I was a teenager). But yeah, definitely not something I run into much now.
I did bring a candle lantern on the New Hampshire trip. But that was as much about burning off humidity in a single wall tent as anything.

Yeah, for backpacking, candle lanterns are a thing. Not batteries to worry about. Of course, there is the whole needing a way to light the candle but if you can light a fire, you got a way to light the lantern.

New score last week. Not rare, unique and I already have one. My brother mentinoned wanting one so for $5 + whatever it needs it would be a decent birthday present/winter project. Needs a glass and pump has no compression. I pulled the checkvalve (somebody had had it before) and it was free. Soaking the leather right now. 5-73 220H, the same model as my first one that started this crazyness.

My credo
Lead follow or get out of my way
My $5 barn sale find got all torn down and cleaned up right after I bought it... it had some pretty serious flame out issues. Then life got a bit crazy and the project got pushed aside. I think it cleaned up really well... probably one of the nicest lanterns I've picked. Very little rust in the tank... very little rash elsewhere. Not perfect... but it will display pretty good. I've had a small list of fix'er up parts that I haven't ordered yet and yesterday I just loosely assembled it to get it off the bench for now. I will get some parts coming and do a final assembly sometime over the winter. I did snap a picture with my Press-R-Matic CO2 charger in place... still tickled about that piece... never seen one before this one fell into my lap.

Forgive me for I have sinned...

My brother saw me playing with my stove awhile ago and mentioned he wouldn't mind getting one because he now that he has a pellet grill he doesn't have a way to cook anything if he lost power. Said he would prefer propane though. Light bulb comes on for a Christmas idea because he is a pain to shop for. If you remember over the summer I found this thing on a garage sale for $2 that needed nothing but a light.

So now he has a "dual fuel" for power outages or whatever. And I agree with Shran, filthy stoves are a PITA to clean.

Also I soaked the leather for the 220J for about two weeks (kinda forgot about it) and it builds pressure great and the valve seems to work. I need to tear it down and clean it yet though.
