Its been pretty slim pickings around me. Everybody thinks their junk is worth $75+

There was a nice 242 with a reflector asking $75 a couple weeks ago which probably wasn't a bad deal, bad timing for me and it sold though.

A couple WWII stoves too for around $100, probably not bad but outta my league.

I’ve always been a fan of Coleman steel belted coolers. With a cooler that old, I’m not sure if replacement parts would be available or not but might be worth a look.

I have a Steel Belt cooler I bought a couple of years ago. Got it on clearance for 1/2 off, because what idiot buys a black cooler(I painted the Lid White).

Only complaint I have with it is the latch is over really shitty. Both sides of the latch are just screwed onto the thin metal face with zip screws, so they strip out easy then fall off(same with the hinges). I had to epoxy them back on. Plus the female part is just some really thing plastic, so it doesn't hold it closed very well.

However, I can fit a 30pk of PBR and a 40# bag of ice in there after work on Friday, and it stays cold all weekend.
Plus, it has a drain plug, so I can pop the plug before I go into the beer store, and when I come back just fill 'er back up.

I doubt much is reproduced like the lanterns and stoves but they did have part numbers and diagrams for about everything. If you need parts for an old cooler you might be amble to ambush some NOS stuff on ebay or something.

I would like to find a cooler to go with my vintage camping setup. I just have a water jug, I think it is a model 5502.

In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they are different.

Ha-ha! I have the cooler and it matches the color of your truck.

It is kind of funny, my truck is just about that later dark Coleman green (which is what color Coleman was using when my truck was made)

My '82 water jug, not perfect but it was free.

I need to let the cracked plastic marinate in my head a little while. I have some thoughts on fixing it, just not sure what would work best. Stabilizing it with spray foam from the back and then making a mold, and a new fiberglass piece might be the best route.

I think we're just out of the prime camping season so people aren't selling their stuff. I usually wait till spring/summer if I've got extras to unload. I could have bought a few stoves on the cheap but I'm at the point where cleaning up a really nasty one isn't much fun.

I bought an oven!!!

Not worth posting pics at this point, it's pretty crusty and it may end up being junk if I can't straighten the bottom heat deflector thing out. The whole thing is kinda rusty too but it was only $2. Kinda funny - a very beat up box came with it and it said that you can cook all kinds of things in it, including roasts, hams, etc... imagine cooking a roast for hours on a Coleman camp stove, almost like they're daring me to try it!

I saw a toaster too but I passed on that.

Gasoline powered space heater, sounds safe.

Old man had a friend who would use a mix of gas and kerosene in his kerosene heater. Burnt his house down trying to refill the heater while drunk.

Filling a heater while drunk... that sounds safe too.

Unlike those these were actually made to run gas. They are rather huge so they are kind of hard to knock over. The big problem (especially yesteryear in the heyday of canvas tents) was them using up all the oxygen in your tent while you were asleep. You have to keep a window cracked and people didn't do that.

I saw a deal earlier this summer where somebody blew the back off their fifth wheel camper because a little 1lb propane cylinder leaked while it was stored...

Personally fire in tents scares me, way too easy to accentally throw a blanket over a heater... (and I don't care what it runs on)

We had one of those heaters when I was a kid. Don't know where it went. I was always scared of it.

Lanterns, anyone?

No, I didn't buy any... 35 bucks each was too rich for my blood. Nice lanterns though.
