The auction I went to today had a fair amount of Coleman stoves and lanterns but I don't know what I'm looking for in those so I wasn't paying attention... There were a few in red boxes like that and a few stoves that went for very little but I'd been out in 90+ weather for hours at that point so I was over it... I did end up with some white gas but I'm thinking of using it in my parts washer, maybe I'll combine it and keep it aside for lamps and stoves...

ok I have been meaning to post this since late May.. .but with house sselling and buying and all the other crap in my life, I have not had a chance, and when I did have a chance, my ADHD made me quickly forget and move on to other things. sooo unless ADHD hits me in the middle of this post... (could happen)

I scored this on FB marketplace for 10 bucks. Still has fuel in the tank, does Coleman fuel keep or should I use it to kill some weeds?

I don't know on the fuel. If in doubt, dump it. Especially since you don't know how old it is.

It seems dual fuel two burner stoves have become a collectible. I saw amazon no longer had them available. So I did some searching. Colemen doesn't have them, nor does Cabela's, Bass Pro, or a hand full of other places that showed up on the search. The single burner mini stove is still being sold but no one other than, say ebay had any listings for a two burner.

I might have to test that. We have some naptha at work for cleaning fittings. The call it dry cleaning solvent but the main ingredient is naptha.

It does go bad but it takes a LONG time... if it smells like Coleman fuel it'll be fine. If it smells like rotten gasoline then dump it.

I've been holding off posting these because they were really dirty but I had time yesterday to do a thorough degrease & scrub with Simple Green. I'm pretty happy with my 426x collection and I guess I'd maybe take an A or C... definitely a no letter or 443 if I found one... but otherwise I'm pretty happy - Now I've got a B, D and E.

First is the D - I picked this up at least a month ago for $12.50. It was pretty dirty but cleaned up really well and doesn't appear to have been used much. Fresh fuel and some oil on the pump got it running perfectly! It is a 1965 model.

Next up is a 426B that I got on Saturday. I've been looking for one of these to compliment my 1950's 413 stoves. Not dated, but what I gather from the Terry Marsh site, it's from 1957 or older. It is a bit rough, lots of little dents and has been used quite a bit, was super greasy, fuel cap needed a new O ring and some screws were missing. I paid $60 for it, way more than it's probably worth but it spoke to me so I had to have it. The guy selling it had a bunch of other non valuable beat up Coleman junk and insisted on giving me an education on these... he spent 5 minutes pumping it to get enough pressure in the tank for a pathetic little flame, then wouldn't believe me when I said the fuel cap was leaking. 😂 After cleanup & repairs I ran it for about 20 minutes to burn off all the grease and it works great. One levelling leg is missing so I'll need to find a replacement someday.

I also have a really cool lantern to show off but I need to clean it up first. More to come on that.

I didn't know there was a three burner option.

OK... screw it... I bought more lanterns yesterday at a swap meet and now I just have to post them (pre-cleanup of course.)

First two came from the swap meet. I am super stoked about these -
#1 is a 228B (I think) and I am going to tentatively date it at 1939. I believe it has the original globe! Paid $25 for it. Fount is caked in crud... it'll need a very thorough cleaning.
#2 is a 220B (again, I think) and I'm guessing it was made between 1931-37 based on the brass screw in pump and collar with tin/zinc drips on it. The fount is pretty clean on his one but the rest of the lantern is really dirty. Paid $20 for this one.
#3 is a Sears single mantle from the mid 60's I think that's supposed to be blue but someone painted it red. Trying to figure out how to fix that. It's very cool - same upper half as a 200A but a bigger fount - close to 220 size. This one will run with very little effort, it's just a bit dirty on the outside. Paid $4 for it.
#4, is just a very homely 220J from 1975. I found it at a yard sale on Saturday for $1... it needs some love to say the least but I'll get it running.
