What does this code mean for a 91 4.0 OHV 4x4 manual trans. Code was pulled with engine off. Motor and harness is off a auto 2wd, ECM/ECU is a 91 4.0 OHV 4x4 manual trans. Trans is a HD from a 2000's.

also read this on another forum. Could this be the issue.
("Not sure if it related or not but these trucks are rev limited to 3000 RPM when in park. Maybe something with that has gone wonky?")
Could my truck being a motor and harness from auto and now changed to manual think I'm in park?

From what I am reading, code 85 on your truck is a canister purge valve error. Do you have the canister purge valve hooked up?

Its hooked up, but its from 91' original part. Maybe bad. Can I pull it off the line or OHM or test it somehow?

That's the problem now that these things are over 25 years old. Caps start leaking and voltage issues wonk with programming.

Even fresh "reman" pcm replacements will be failed. Physically checking function is ideal of course.

This is where mega squirt really shines. You can keep these old things running better then the factory once that system is learned.

Ohm for those is 40 to 90

Those have battery power....so 10.5 or better....

Circuit cycles .5 volts or more.

Should hold vac for at least 20 seconds

Now I’m not hearing my fuel pump turn on. This truck is going to kill me.

Ground Wire came off fender wall. Just test ran the truck. Still Boggs down a lot around 2000 rpm in 3rd. 1and 2 seem to give power till about 3500. Can’t drive over 30-40 mph due to truck has no lights, alignment way off etc.

Runs smooth in 3rd under 2000. I short shitt and cruised at around 20 in 3 gear and it was smooth. But then I slowly rol on the throttle and motor Boggs.
Pulled the vac line to throttle body and didn’t change a thing.

Does a 91' use 2 HO2 sensors? That maybe my problem. I have one and I can remember if the motor had two.
