I'm installing a new clutch master and slave on my 1993 ford ranger xlt. I'm totally stumped on how to remove the clutch push rod from my pedal? Hoping somebody knows how? :)

Thanks guys!

Insert a large flat blade screw driver between the rod and pedal and then twist.

I don't remember too much except that I was upside at the time. What ever way can get in there with the screwdriver and pry the pushrod off . Be gentle.

There is a little four pronged retainer that BREAKS when you do this

truth be told there is no practical way to remove it without breaking it.

But the new clutch master cylinder is supposed to come with a new one.
