I was running a Volvo fan and it worked great until I connected it to my MSPNP2 and it fried my wiring and the fan quit. I put the stock Explorer fan on with a Ranger fan shroud and it looks just like yours. Actually runs a little cooler than the Volvo fan now. I'll send some pics later. I'm using the Explorer FEAD and my radiator is mounted under the upper supports so it's about 3" forward of normal.

Thanks. Yeah I dont care for electric fans for a daily.. if it goes out while sitting in traffic..you're screwed. Plus a properly shrouded clutch fan cools better

Do you mind pls? What model of Explorer didn't you get your V8 from, and what model year ranger did you swapped it into?

I find it hard to believe that this fan & shroud set up really cools the system. I say this because of all I have learned about mechanical fans
through the aftermarket manufacturers. they all state the best results come from the fan being positioned half in & half out of the shroud.
I found it to be true in the case on my street rod .
this set up pictured amazes me, glad it works for you (y)

Thanks for the pic.... If I was you, if possible.. move it forward some.. 1/2 inch at least. You definitely want some in the shroud. I just don't know if I moved mine to much.

The block is from a 1989 Mustang, GT40P heads and intake from a 1999 Explorer. It's in a 1992 Ranger. Swapping Explorer to later model Rangers is supposedly simpler because they share more.

Not even going to worry about it. I've spent enough time getting it where it is and after 35,000 miles of driving it's staying where it is.
