Hello everyone!

I've never owned a 4x4 until today. We bought a 2004 Sport Trac, and while it seems like a nice vehicle, it makes a clunking / rubbing sound when turning left after coming to a complete stop.

Any ideas what this might be?

are you talking about having the wheel at a full left lock and then taking off?? or just as you start a left turn from a stop, big difference in what it may be

Is it in the front or rear? Left or right?

Sorry, I don't seem to be getting notification of replies.

The noise sounds like it's coming from the back, but it's hard to tell whether it's from the left or right. It's most noticeable at low speed when turning left, like when pulling away from a stop, or turning into a driveway.

It turns out the problem had nothing to do with suspension at all. I had bad axle bearings and a worn RH rear axle. It's all better now.
