hey guys, I have an 87' ford ranger. and when you bleed the clutch it is kind of hard to get the clear tubing on to the dust cap, I think I might be using a clear tubing of the wrong size. Can someone please tell me what size clear tubing I should be using? Thanks.

I use air tubing from the fish tanks, its all a standard size, length is the only thing that varies.

Its not super easy. I was never able to actually reach it. I do know that you can get the fish tank air line over the end though.

i find it hard to get it on the bleeder too. usually i get a cup of boiling water and soften up the end of the tube; then i put my box end wrench on the bleeder then the softened tube.

good luck.

Yeah, that's about the best way to go about it.

I bought a new hydraulic line a few days ago. I'm going to put it in this morning and then we are going to bleed the clutch. I have a question for you guys. Have you been more successful with bleeding by jacking up the from end so the master cylinder tips up OR taking the master cylinder off of the firewall?

I've always just left it together, level on the ground.

I prefer to use a hand pump rather than the 2-man pedal method, but that's my personal preference. Some guys don't like to do it that way.

Yea I use tubing with a big syringe you can chase that pedal a long time. Also if you get silicone tubing from the parts store the better grade slips right over.
