Threw a good charged battery on it and replaced the alternator. Voltage still wont come down below 14.5 no matter how long it runs. I can bypass the PCM control to the ASD relay by grounding it with a jumper wire and the rough running issue stops. Remove the jumper and the relay goes back to flicking on and off and engine runs like crap. So the issue is from the PCM control to the ground side of the relay. Still cant figure out why the voltage won't drop down to 13.5 like it should and if the voltage issue is causing the erratic operation of the PCM control of the ASD relay...

Still working on it... got a buddy to download and print me a service guide and there is a bulletin about this exact issue. It says check the TPS sensor voltages, PCM ground wires, and decarbon the engine...

So thats this evenings plan. After that if no luck Im gonna bite the bullet and pay the dealer to fix it.

The lady who owns this cherokee is currently borrowing my friends car (a dodge caliber). She just called him saying his car is acting up... god dammit chrysler, get your crap together!

Im putting an "Anti-Chrysler" sign above my garage...

I end up working on these things alot, I turn down strangers with problems like this but when its family, friend, or someone a family or friend knows personally and asks for help because pf a bad situation Im a softy so I always say yes. It never works out. I've had so many headaches from 2000-2010 jeep commanders, cherokees, and wranglers I just can't even stand looking at them anymore.

In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they are different.
You’ll still have people come by and say “But it’s not a Chrysler. It’s a Jeep.”

Be sure to check the left rear tire pressure too, that could be it.

It was like that when I found it.
I know alot of people bypass the voltage regulator in the PCM when they have issues but the ASD thing issort of weird since 14.5 isn't that high. Have you just tried unplugging the big ass plugs at the PCM and cleaning and reattaching? I've had a few 3.7 Jeeps but never major electrical issues as long as the battery terminal connectors and grounds are clean as a whistle. Grounds are good things to have...
