Got it off Ebay for $25. Probably the same thing as what Advance, Autozone, and OReillys sell for $40. Thanks.

Everything from China is good, but on most of it the jury is still out trying to decide good for what ;)

Motorcraft or Hitachi are the only 2 brands that are true solenoid type IAC Valves

Other brands use solenoid/stepper combo which will cause odd idles and functions of IAC Valve using the Ford software in Ranger computers to control them

I don't like most import parts, but on something like the IAC, I might take a chance. The Duralast line used to be a good value, but in recent times they are not.
If it is easy to replace again; go ahead and take the chance. If it's hard to replace, get a genuine Ford part if available.

My credo
A legend to the old man, a hero to the child...
If its easy to change and/or wont leave me stranded -Buy on price

If its a bitch to change and/or will leave me sitting or cause catastrophic failure- Buy quality.

Just my rule of thumb. IACs fall into catagory 1

My dad use to say "I wish I had a nickel. I could tape it to (whatever he was holding) and put it in the trash. That way I could say I threw something away."

I'll carry the old one (which still sort of works) with me for a while.
Has anybody thought of doing this? Spray a little brake fluid in there which should make the diaphragm swell a little and improve the seal.
Yeah I should have bought a better fuel pump. I put in a Masterpro (Chinese made). It was an all-afternoon project, pulling that bed back, by myself.
Hate for it to die and leave me stranded. So far, its been a year and its still working. Walked up to the O'Reilley's, less than a mile from my home, and picked it up for $78.

I picked up a number of those little gajits at the wrecking yard 2 or 3 years ago, just about everything I looked at gave me one or two of em, and when I was doing that was mostly just goofing around. Not many of those vehicles were parked there because their IAC valve was bad, and at that time the yard wasn't really wrecking peoples wallets for them either

My credo
If you don't have time to do it right will you have time to do it over?
If I ever find a good Chinese part I'll post about it.

Duralast? LOL. A month after the one year warranty expires, they crap out on ya. I went through God only knows how many of those crappers on my 98 Ranger. Finally one day, looking over the shoulder of the parts jockey at Vato Zone, I saw they had a "Premium" part. Gimme dat art there! Made by Hitachi. Bought it in 2015. Still rolling with it to this day. Put one one my Lightning the same year. Still rolling with it to this day.

They're easy to change, Sure. But do the maf. $39.95 every 13 months, or $69.95 and it's still good eight years later. Ding-ding, we have a winner! Winner! Winner! Chikun dinner. Honk-honk!

I'd use one from my used and surplus wrecking yard finds box :)
