not for me
Has anyone done a 4.3L swap? it seems like a good way to go. I'm not sure if the transmission would mount or if there is an adapter but even if it doesn't the Chevy/GM trans and transfer case should work. the after market is way bigger, the engines are cheaper, more available, and have more power. they seem to be around the same size maybe even a little more narrow from the SOHC 4.0L.

***edit: i know the 90* thing may make the GM/Chevy stile a little wider but if we can fit an LS why not a small block design V6

My credo
Its probably better to be self deprecating than self defecating.
Using a 4.3 and getting an adapter for the ford drivetrain would probably be easier, as the ford tcase is on the drivers side and chevy uses a passenger side drop.

But... an LS would be the better choice. Either swap would take just about the same amount of work, might as well go with the motor that makes more power.

I wouldnt be surprised if an LS could be had for cheaper than the 4.3 too. 4.8/5.3's can be bought for 250$ +/- all day long in my area.

Keep your mind like an umbrella, it only works if its open... Continually learning.
Later GMs had driver drop t/cases. So be mindful of which t/case you want to use.
