Check your blower motor resistors!

Guys, take a couple minutes and check for debris behind your blower motor resisters. I very seriously could have lost my truck to a fire tonight because of the leaves that made their way into the air box. I'd heard similar stories, but it really hit home hard tonight!

Thanks for the reminder! I need to check out my 87 truck for leaf buildup.

I lost my 76 stingray vette due to a fire.....and lets just say fiberglass and fire is a bad combination

yep, heater was working double time, and sending out smoke signals too!

Good point, luckily in '89 they changed the cowl to holes instead of slots so I don't have that problem

pulled mine apart and cleaned last weekend..leaves packed in there all the way up the ac unit!! heater works awesome now..

This was a regular exercise for me every year...my truck has been sitting for six months and I had cleaned everything when I installed the new heater box from a 96...but I will check mine again before running it because my truck is a leaf magnet...used to be a chick magnet but...
