Im going to paint the chassis on my 79 project truck probably monday, and on my b2 i used a rubberized undercoating, it has a rough finish almost like bedliner, and its a realy flat black. id like to go for the smooth finish with a bit of a semi-gloss look to it. something like this.

thanks

Clear coat. Paint it up with POR-15 or something, sand it lightly, and then clear it. That should get you a good protective anti-rust coat AND the glossy look you want.

EDIT: Just saw that your B2 is powered by 6 angry midgets. Don't tell me you crazy Canuks are putting together a team for the Olympic car pushing contest too!!!!

Competition might hurt our chances of winning!

POR-15, then use a semi-gloss overcoat.

1st time I read a negative comment. Can you enlighten us why ?
I've used it enough to know that it doesn't work as advertised. Paint it over rust and the metal just keeps rusting. Sandblast the metal clean first, and it'll just peel right off. The body shop I used to work for loved to use it, the only reason I used it is because my boss wanted me to, and I always had problems with it. But the biggest thing I don't like about it, is that it needs to be topcoated.

Chassis Saver however, goes on, and gets hard as a rock, I've put it over both rust and clean metal with success.

I've also had success with Eastwood's "Rust Ecapsulator", you don't need to top coat it like you do por15.
