My credo
the grey-t escape
what tire size would effectivly turn my 3.73's to 4.10's? seems a set of tires/used rims would be a way to go rather than spend time/money on a gear change, and if it doesnt lead up to expectations its quick and easy (in comparison to a gear change) to change back to stock size tires. or would it just look stupid having tiny tires in wheelwells that had 235-15's stock ?(and 265's were a factory available size). im not sure if 4.10s would be enough and 4.56 is quite a jump. (plus you know id have to put a lock-rite or detroit locker in there while im in there)

Whats your stock size? 235 75 15? Thats about 28.9 inches tall with a 3.73 gear. To make that equal to a 4.1, u need a tire 26.3 inches tall. 195 75 15 is 26.5 so thats about as close as ur gonna find.

i'll probly change gears eventualy, but this way i can see if it will be worthwhile before all the time,$,& effort. having 2 differentials makes for a costly ratio change. or i could just run small rears and not use 4wd when im needing to use the trailer. probly just put a lock-rite in the rear, less stress on the front u-joints is always a good thing, took me most of a day once to change the steering u-joints (a good part of that was just getting the spindles out of the knuckle) yes 235/15's are my stock size.

That would be some pretty small tires on there. Is it actually worth it?

I don't know if this applies to Ranger T-cases, but when my dad had our Sami, he didn't mess with the axle gears at all. All he did was put a reduction in the transfercase. Does the same thing as far as I know, and is cheaper than doing the axle gears. Or at least it was when we did up our Sami.

It works. If you need the power, go for it. A 205/75-15 was what came stock on most earlier 4x4 trucks.
