Wondering if anyone can help me with this: I swapped a 5 speed into my 93 long bed 2.3 ranger, and along with the swap I put in a ECU from a 93 or 94 5 speed truck. I believe my ranger never came with EGR because I don't see any wiring, and I'm missing all the EGR parts. A couple people on this forum have mentioned that some automatic rangers came without EGR. Anyhow, now that I have the ECU from a manual truck my CEL won't shut off. I throws two codes: 327 and 558. Both are related to EGR parts. Does anyone know of a good way to trick the ECU into thinking the EGR is functioning? I would love to get the CEL off...

No cheap/ way to trick the ecu. If I were you I'd put the auto ecu back in and see what happens... All the ecu controls are touqe lock and shift selenoids and I don't 🤔 they throw trans codes on those model years??(^very unsure) did you alter the wire harness to install clutch switch? Wondering how your starting it without the nutral safety switch, honestly just curious since I don't buy automatics and have only swapped auto to manual trans on Foxbody cars..

I poop in the furnace.
The automatic ECU is setup different for the engine not just the transmission. It will run but the idle and coast idle will be off and it will throw codes for the TCC solenoid. You'd just be taking two steps backwards...
