Hello to everyone! I'm in need of a cargo / 3rd brake light for a 1993 F150. Wondering if a Rangers from the same 1993 to 1996 would fit?

Yes, I'm looking for aftermarket and don't like what's out there. The ones I like have been discontinued, out of stock / don't know when it will be restocked, or some other saying, saying you're out of luck.

Found one aftermarket I like saying its for a 1993 Ranger. Would be great if the Rangers and the F150s would interchange. I don't see why not though vehicle manufactures love to play with people.

No, the ranger light is slightly different from that era. 1999-2016 super duty's are interchangeable with 1993-2011 rangers but not 1998 or earlier F-150's. They look very similar but the ranger light is curved more on the back side and will not fit flush onto an F-150 cab.

I literally just went through the reverse trying to find a new light for my 09 ranger. I bought one online for an F-150 because they looked so similar but I assure you they are not!

If it ain't broke, break it.
1993 F150 didn't have a third brake light, just a cargo light.

If you don't have time to do it right will you have time to do it over?
My 93 Ranger has a 3rd brake light, isn't there one on the truck now?

From my understanding U.S law says anything made after 1992 should have a third brake light. 1986 for cars, 1992 for trucks. :dunno:

Either way, still won't fit. :icon_rofl:

I was under that impression too dirtman, just mine has no red light or a second wire behind the light for a brake. I would need to run a wire.

I had a 93 Toyota pickup for some years back when. Lived in CA at the time. It had no third brake light, didn't even have a cargo light. Dealer said it didn't have to have one when I inquired about it. Maybe 93 was like a transition year. Some had them, some didn't. Maybe vehicles made late in the year had them while vehicles made early in the year didn't?

mine has a cap, no 3rd brake light on it, I unplugged the cab 3rd brake light due to the glare when Id be on the brakes and cap was on, what few times the cap is off I never hook it back up. No one has seemed to care, Ive gotten crap about my loud exhaust , but yet a neon drives by daily with a open manifold thats way louder then my truck and much more annoying. He never seems to be detained about it.
