Deengineer until it is how Blue Oval should have sold it!!

I remove the center bolt completely. I have a set of 5 different length smaller diameter but longer bolts that I use in the center of the pulley puller. Because of this it comes out about ⅛"-¼" per bolt. This is simply a task of patience; I do not use an air or battery powered tool, just the right deep socket, extension a breaker bar. With grade 8 or stronger hardware I've NEVER broken or bent a bolt pulling a 2.9l damper.

Loosen the retainer bolt. Back it out 3/4” , using a puller, screw two bolts into the harmonic balancer, place the center bolt against the harmonic balancer retainer bolt that you have left backed out 3/4”. Tighten the puller center bolt. You balancer will slide right off.

You can buy a balancer puller on Amazon for less than $20
