So I have a 94 3.0 auto 2wd
Saw this post on craigslist today. Central NC if you are interested.
Says it's a 94 but the dash is totally different than mine.
I have a push/pull knob for the headlights and the steering wheel looks to me like it has an air bag - I don't .
Can someone explain the differences please.

They changed to that dash in 95. That might be a really late 94? Or someone dont know the year of their truck.

Toonces drives a Ranger . . . . just not very well.
It has to be a 1995 model, not 1994. The VIN isn't listed, but it would denote the year model.

My 1994 Ranger was built very late; door tag says "11/94", but it's still a 1994 model, with the second generation dash, no air bags, and OBD1. Also, the deer print wheels on this one lack the small round holes, which started in '95.

It's really not unusual to see internet ads with an incorrect model year. Just a mistake on the seller's part.

my 94 was advertised as a 97. Ive noticed alot of used “N” series ford tractors with the wrong year or model. one ad claimed to have a 53 8N but not only was it a 2N, the 8N wasnt made in ‘53-that year would be a NAA series, specifically the “jubilee”.
The kid I got my 94 from also claimed it had a/c at one time & it had been removed. well there was nothing on the heating controls to indicate that, nothing under the hood and the fan shroud peice that fastens to the radiator clearly said “cooling system not equipped for a/c”. I suspect he thought it had air once upon a time because the p/s bracket has a spot where the compressor would mount, its the same bracket for either application.

If you don't have time to do it right will you have time to do it over?
In the past if a vehicle was built in October or later it was next years model, earlier builds were this years. 65 Mustangs were released on April 17, 1964 and are often called 64 1/2s but they are 65 model year. The 97 F250's and 350's were built through December of 1997 and the 99's were released in early January. No 98's were built. To be a 1998 vehicle it needed to be in production on January 1st of 1998, I believe they started the 99's on January 2nd. The newest built 99 would be 21 months older than the earliest built. I had a tech who often ordered the wrong parts until I figured out he was going by build date not model year. The car companies don't follow a set schedule for new model introduction anymore.

Either someone swapped the dash, or someone doesn't know the year of their truck. That's a 95 Ranger. They went to that dash style in 1995 with the Ranger and Explorer.

It’s VERY common for people to not know what year their vehicle is.

When I worked at Advance it was very common to get people who couldn't tell you more than "that blue one" while pointing out the front window of the store.

My favorite though was the early-20-something d-bags who came in and said "I need this for my WRX". I'd start looking like I was genuinely confused then say "I'm sorry, WRX doesn't seem to be a model that Subaru made that year, what do you drive again?" and keep doing that until they told me it was an Impreza.

The STI owners are even worse... they’re just a sub-sub model.

Well my 94 XLT has pull knob for the headlights. Don't think it makes any differ but it's a 2.9.
