This was already like this when I bought my truck, its a 90 with the 2.3 motor. My truck didn't have ac when I bought it so idk if this has anything to do with it or if there's supposed to be a hose or a pipe connected there or what. One person told me I didn't need whatever went there since my truck still ran but another person told me my truck had turbo at one point and that's where it went and somebody else said to get a piece of pipe and connect these 2 points together. I'm completely lost and if anybody can tell me what's supposed to go there and the purpose of it I'd really appreciate it. I got it circled in these pictures.

My credo
Lead follow or get out of my way
Pre heat tube for cold starting.

Should be fine without it... considering where you're located.

the grey-t escape
heck mine doesn’t even have that shroud/heat sheild that goes over the manifold, let alone the preheat tube.

If you want to replace it (no need to), most auto parts stores stock preheater hose in the Dorman/random parts aisle. :)

In south carolina, ignore that hose... my '90 had it when I got it but it was ratty, don't remember when I ditched it...

Whoever told you it had a turbo at one point, don't take their advice too seriously... :)
