First off - not related to a vehicle as far as I know... It's a mystery object given to my class to try to identify.

It's about 30 lbs, 2.5 ft long, and has two electric motors.

The large motor turns the jackscrew running the length of the shaft. This moves the smaller motor assembly up and doen (or side to side?).

The second motor, smaller, is geared down and spins a shaft with eccentrically fitted bearings. When the shaft is spun the bearings move up and down.

The small motor is from a power lift chair, both are 120V, 60Hz.

No idea where it's from, guesses appreciated!!!
Thanks TRS!

Those bearing looking things...... does the motor on top spin those? They look like that are connected to the shaft.

It looks like some type of a vibration device on first glance.

Well, to me it looks like something off a packaging machine...the bearings look like they allow a type of tamping action...

Other than that...it could be sexual...:)

Looks like it could be from a vibrating massage chair.

Ha ha, yeah... more of an 'industrial' sized vibrator... for those who need that.

We've thought of a massaging bed - didn't know chiros had them.
Also thought of a feed type separator, like a shaker.

I've been on one. They shake you pretty good. It also has a thing that massages your neck.

EDIT: It looked a lot like this:

I've had a chiropractic stretch bed apart. It doesn't belong in one.

It seems to be on industrial traverse mechanism. If it is stainless steel, I would expect it to be in the food or medical industry.

It fits on the International Space Station....look closely at the Haffenfaffer Gear--had the gear been installed backwards, it would have been used to shake foam peanuts down in packaging for aftermarket Ranger parts...
