I am rebuilding my 4.0 from my 1994 Ranger and I had a machine shop install new camshaft bearings. When I look inside the block, I can see that the oil port on the bearing doesn't line up perfectly with the oil channel.
1. Does the block indeed have a channel so if the bearing port isn't perfectly centered on the channel, will it be a big issue? (See pics)
2. Is there an oil hole in the block where the bearing sits that I need to have lined up with the oil hole on the bearing instead?
3. If the shop scuffed up the surface of the bearing a little bit, how critical is it or should I get a different shop to install new bearings? (See pics)
I'll attach pics that I took with my endoscope for your viewing pleasure (amusement).
Any help/guidance would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!
Tim
