There are no zero emissions vehicles, EV emissions are released wherever the power is generated, where the material for the battery is mined, and when the battery is diposed of after it's replaced.
there is a reason i was bummed when rusty was pissed off enough to time himself out based on the debate in ev deal thread.....because he was right. there are alot of things happening all over that address this. some that i am directly involved in...and can not comment on specifically due to patent obligations...and i have already been warned.
while i love EV machines and vehicles.... batteries are filthy and stupid for our general fleet.
fortunately for us, cali fawked up.....they have already tested near zero emmission I.C.E. technology that we can use on our old hotrods. they already have some infrastructure in place as well out west that run busses, so its funny how this works....well not funny.
i have personally seen these machines this year....and you can go see them too.
more importantly the best way to store solar power for my needs is with hydrogen. and some of the fueling stations for the hydrogen busses do just that...they make the fuel on sight. so there is no transportation cost and energy loss in production to deliver fuel....if your making it in place....
but that is not the goal....regardless.....you can still shorten the transport lines extensively for energy...
the new setup with dual style injection with the coyote is zero detectable vs the earlier ls engine setup. these engines clean the air in michigan.....the air coming out is cleaner then the air going in with the glorious sounds of horsepower. you can lock yourself in the garage and only warm it up and clean the air.....
toyota and cummins is really digging in on this....
there are articals all over and pod casts....or you can go there for yourself. these things are awesome.
even for diesels there are retrofitable parts that eliminate the need for the failure points of urea....clean the nox up to ridiculously low levels and further reduce fuel consumption....
you can definitely make your own hydrogen.....i have been doing it for years....and my own diesel type fuels....it is why my ranger is a diesel.... it runs on a combination of both diesel base fuel and a base hydrogen(browns gas) to help keep it clean and add some power to that nastily aspirated slug.....
