Hello Everyone, I recently bought a 1993 Ford Ranger 4x2, 4.0 V6, 5 speed, Regular Cab pickup truck and am / have been working on it / restoring it. Anyway I was reading up on them and was going to purchase / start with the intake system and exhaust. I see that BBK / Edelbrock make a 66mm Throttle Body and I am fixing to order one of them. Anyway does anyone know where or what the part number is for this "C&L Mass Air Flow housing or sensor is and where to order one at ???
THANKS

My credo
Its probably better to be self deprecating than self defecating.
Intake and exhaust by themselves aren't going to warrant a bigger throttle body. Been there, done that with a p71 crown vic.

Your money is better off spent on a camswap and a tune.

THANKS Blmpkn, I am just starting on this truck and just going to get the bolt ons out of the way before I get to a Cam and Head Swap and probably will end up putting a motor together and trying to get alot more out of it. I had one of these trucks when I was a teenager, it was a 1994 Ford Ranger STX, 4x2 with the 4.0 in it and was my 1st Brand New Vehicle / Truck I bought for myself while I was a Senior in High School and was working to pay the payment myself. I put a ported throttlebody on it from a company, I don't remember the company back then that sold them on a Exchange Basis, a K&N Filter, Punched the front Cat out and that truck came with a 3.08 limited slip rear in it, I bought some Ford Motorsports 3.55 ring and pinion for it and bought a factory Differential for it to have Positive Traction. Put a Superchips Power Module in it that removed the Rev Limiter and Speed Limiter and a 190lph Fuel Pump. It ran GOOD and STRONG but I was a kid then, LOL. That is why I was asking about all this and was going to see now that I was older if I could Build / Push this one I found and bought ALOT Farther!

You can buy a Billet 3" MAF which takes your existing sensor. It also has an air straightener which is helpful to eliminate turbulence around the sensor element with a cold air intake stuck right on the end of it.

If you will be running a Chip Tune anyway you can just get it tuned for the size MAF housing you are using. There are more alternatives to the Superchips these days, with much more ability such as SCT x4, Moates/Quarterhorse, etc..

There is no real benefit to the MAF upgrade nor the Fuel Pump upgrade unless you are swapping to bigger injectors. Doing all three together and getting a tune for them is where you can start to get some gains.

Most of what you felt as such a great increase back then was getting rid of that terrible 3:08 open diff. :)
