"By-pass hose"?

For coolant?
For air?

There are two heater hoses
One runs from lower intake by thermostat to firewall heater hose connection
Other runs from water pump to firewall for other heater hose connection

Heater core has no assigned direction of flow, so hose can be hooked up either way at the firewall

On my 2.9, the only hoses that have collant in them are the two hoses from the rad and two going to heater corer. Thats it.

Upper and lower radiator hoses and 2 heater hoses are all I remember on my 2.9l

Could it be for the PCV Valve or Breather hose, air hoses

I know the 2.8 has a bypass hose when the thermostat is located in the timing cover like mine.

The cold coolant loop with thermostat closed is kinda weird on the 2.8. I'm not sure any of that will apply to the 2.9.

Well after the upper and lower rad hoses and the 2 heater hoses are hooked up, fill with water.........................

You will see soon enough if a coolant hose is missing :)

My 2.8 had the thermostat up high and it had a bypass hose too.
