so heres the skinny, i went through some trails last night in my b2 ('88 2.9 5spd manual 1350) that i should have not been in haha. anyway my night ended early due to some stupid issue that i dont even want to get started on but anyway when i put it on the trailer to get it home today i noticed a wire hanging down behind the t-case:annoyed:

i have no idea what it is but it hangs directly behind the tcase and it has a sensor or something that plugs into the tcase

help please i dont know if its a sensor or something as simple as a control to the dash indicator for the 4x4
im confused:icon_confused:

There is a sensor on the output of tcase. It is the vehicle speed sensor. Chances are thats the wire your seeing.

no.

edit: but the speedometer cable plugs into the t-case right next to that sensor. theres a good chance whatever ripped the VSS sensor out also wiped out your speedo cable. it may have sprung itself back up under the truck somewhere where you cant see it from up top.

unfortunately whatever caused my breakdown that night still hasnt been rectified so i have no idea whether the speedo works or not but i noticed the tach didnt seem to be working. also dont know if that plug was pulled out during the trail run or before...
hopefully ill get it running in the next couple days so i can check it out.
