Modern trucks just don't look good with slide in campers... that's probably why the manual advises against it. :icon_rofl:

I'm guessing it's a CYA thing for Ford related to a roll over issue. High center of gravity without a sway bar.

Photo below is a 2019 Ranger with a full pallet of sod in the bed... and that's what it took to "level out" the truck. That's cargo is in the weight range of 2,500 to 3,000 lbs :icon_surprised: On our 2019 SCab the maximum weight of occupants and cargo should never exceed 1536 lbs.

That is plausible, the "camper package" for my '85 included a rear sway bar... and a payload bump to around 1,700 lbs.

its a liability thing. If they say dont do it, then you cant sue them. Otherwise you can put on an oversize camper, top out on the highway, yank the wheel as hard as you can to either side, and if you dont die, sue them and win. At least in CA.
