Wheel wells narrowed. Originally to fit a Ranger bench seat but we decided to leave it open. It's going to be a two seater now with a wider bed interior.

The shortened wheelbase posed a problem with the drive shaft angle. Wedges we're put between the axle and leaf springs the fix the angle. (the wedge rotated the differential, moving the universal joint upwards.)

So as it sits now, all body fabrication is complete, it's time to get it powder coated. I'm thinking the original blue and tan... But silver or black would look nice too... what's your thoughts?

My credo
If you don't have time to do it right will you have time to do it over?

Keeping the original colors would be cool. But. I've had a black Mustang sine August 18, 1990- it looks great when freshly washed for about 5 minutes before dust settles on it. I bought a new 1999 silver Taurus that looked great when I waxed it and still looked good after driving it 2 weeks including rainy days. Are you building something to polish and show or is it going to be a driver? My NH state truck orange Ranger is almost as forgiving as silver, too.

This will be a weekend driver, light off-road, beach vehicle. It'll be driven up at Uwharrie once or twice but not regularly. It'll have SCUBA gear in it at the ocean more than driven on the trail.

Not a fan of destroying a Grand Wagoneer...but pretty cool idea given you get solid axles without swapping, a really good V8 a 360 if I recall was most common in those Grand Wagoneers back then, and a good 4WD system.

I live in Idaho, there's still several running around in really good condition, but when you find one for sell they want a premium for them....found one for sell a few years ago for $8500 had 58k original miles on it, was owned by a retired couple, looked like they just drove it off the showroom floor....been kicking myself since then for not buying it. Now they're selling for 2-3 times that for high mileage ones with trashed interiors and terrible paint problems.

My 84 Bronco 2 didn't last in the salty mess from Utah either that thing had rust problems everywhere...it ran great but I think parts were starting to fall off it as I drove it LOL...automatic weight reduction, except I was just waiting to fall through the floor while driving down the road at some point HAHA!!

...for sale. Not... for sell. This word seems to be newly added to the list of words slaughtered in the English language and seems to be gaining in popularity. I have no idea why. It's like schools don't teach tense any more.

I'm not picking on you specifically Bill, but that one just gets my panties in a wad, lol.
