I’ve heard of people doing this but haven’t seen much on it. I’d be looking to install in the spare tire location of a 95 Ranger step side. Any pics or thoughts from someone who has done this would be great thanks

Deengineer until it is how Blue Oval should have sold it!!
Naddanme,

I did this just last fall on my 87 Ranger, I removed the centerline tank and installed BII tank behind the rear axle.

I have the skid plate off so I will shoot some fresh pics of it. I used the forward fuel tank support bracket from the BII but in the rear I just slid the rear Ranger tank support bracket forwards, then used the stock straps.

I had to lengthen the fuel lines, the power control wires and add a fuel filler door/access to the rear quarter panel.

This shows the fuel access, in progress. If you look closely, the tank is visible behind the axle. This has a body lift, without the body lift, that tank would be much more visible.

This shows the tank position in relation to the axle and the distance from the bottom of the tank to the ground, due to the body lift with a jack stand under that shock mount.

Thanks. How much of a body lift do you have. I’m worried about how low the tank will hang.

@BlackBII Installed a BII tank in his Ranger too, I know it is somewhere in his build thread.

Here's some pics of my install. I made my own crossmembers, but still used factory straps and the factory skid plate.

I have about 1/2" of body lift, and I also clearanced the bed by cutting out one of the supports.

Thanks guys that really helps. I have a 1/2” body lift also. But now I’m kinda worried about how far down it will hang. I don’t think it would be to bad but more than I’d like. Give me something to think about. I’m in the middle of bracing the frame and doing a shackle flip so it will be awhile before I need to decide. 👍
