The engine developed a coolant leak and it was fowling one of the plugs. So I looked around for a donor as it would cost the same amount to just replace the head gaskets if that was truly what was wrong. I suspect it's a cracked head however.

So 2 weeks ago I found A nice donor. Went to go look at it. 92 ranger with 260 000 km. It ran like a top, no lifter tick or anything, good steady oil pressure.

So I swapped out the engines last week. Got everything finished up last night thanks to a buddy for coming to help hook everything back up.

Defiantly not as much power from what I had in there before. But it's OK for now. I can at least run regular fuel in it now.

One mod that I did that I can feel the difference on is, I cut the rivet out of the motor mount and put a bolt in and tightened them down more than the rivet was. Really stifened the motor mounts up. Just need to redo the trans mount setup and it'll be rocken.

My credo
If you can't go through it or around it, then go over it.
It's a stock 4.0L. You crazy? I would never go back to the shitbox 2.9L
lol .......... I don't think I have ever agreed with you more ........

when you gonna swap your heads and headers?

One of the heads could potentially be cracked. Won't know till I pull them off. Headers, no I won't be swapping them over for some time.

big dif??
Very big difference. Reduced to running Premium fuel nothing less than 94 octaine.
