Made a slight detour from working on the bronco today because I found a unique parts donor for it…. Gonna use the D35, front grille and header panel, and the bumpers, seats, and carpet from this…. Had to get it or the old man was gonna scrap it. Engine skipped time and no longer worth fixing IMO

What year is that Navajo? If a 93 or 94, you have the SFI fuel management system, computer and complete harnesses offered by Ford for the 4.0l.

I will be using the pcm/wiring and all associated parts on the bronco. I’ll check the year tomorrow.

Got the engine almost out of the explorer … hung up on the passenger top bell housing bolt… rounded off from previous owner.
After that I will be pulling the intake, then the engine will be out.

Why pull the whole front end off of it?

Honestly… it’s something I’ve always done. Easier access to bellhousing and o2 sensors. More room when pulling the engine etc… gets everything out of the way.

@North Idaho 5.oh ,

You can not run an OHV or SOHC 4.0l on an 87 BII 2.9l ecm, that is why I asked about the Navajo.

Yes, I am aware. Thanks for looking out though. I’m running all the Navajo pcm, wiring, front dress etc… that’s the plan anyway

Waiting for parts so I am doing other stuff on the bronco …. Started with the front grille / header panel. Still needs slight modifications but not a bad start. Had to modify the radiator support slightly and I’ll get pics of it since they didn’t save … gonna be doing the bumper tomorrow

My credo
Toonces drives a Ranger . . . . just not very well.
That grille looks pretty good, and it makes a B2 look "different".

Good progress!
