Broken Front Parking Brake Cable

I know someone was asking earlier how to remove the line from the brake assembly. I did mine with a clamp on the spring mechanism each time it's pushed it opens up more to the wider part where you can remove it. Now my problem is I prematurely attached the line underneath to the middle line but can't get it off that clip to set my front line in the bracket first any tips on tools to use? I tried long needlenose pliers but they keep getting stuck at the bevel in the clamp .
