Finally decided to give a build thread for my 1991 ford ranger xlt 2wd. Got my truck july of 2014 and been using it as a daily driver since and just fixing problems here and there and giving the truck a little more lift. The truck came with 158,000 miles when I got it. It has the 3.0 slow in it and it also is a 5spd manual.

How it looked when I first bought it

How it looks Today

Things Done To It So Far
-Explorer Leaf Springs
-2 inch coil Springs
-3 inch body lift
-Explorer Console
-29 inch all terrain tires (28.9 if you wanna be exact)
-aftermarket radio and a cb radio
-Thrush Turbo Muffler
-adjustable camber and caster bushings
-Switched 3.55 gear ratio axle for a 3.73 that was picked up from junkyard
-Cup Holders from newer ranger because it never had any.
-1997 F-150 Shocks for the bigger springs

Here are some pictures

The reason I was able to pick up the truck up so cheap was becaus it was overheating really bad. And so it turned out to be the wrong fan which was pushing air back out instead of in because the fins were reversed.

Things I still want to do
-build a new bumper or raise the one I have
-mabye in the future a dana 30 sas swap
-Locker in the rear and dana 30 if it happens
-regear axles to 4.56 and run 33's
-led lights in cab and dash
-use an 8.8 explorer axle to get 31 spline and disk brakes

Today I started to build my rear bumper. All I got done today was the brackets and fitted things up. Hopefully tomorrow Ill be able to weld the brackets onto the rectangular tubing at school if all goes well.

I want to cut the ends off at a diagonal to match the bed line. I also want to put a receiver hitch at the bottom for some light towing. Haven't full decided yet on shackles or not it will be more of an impulse thing. To finish it off I plan on putting some real thick rough bed liner on it.

Got the Dana 30 finally under now! Used early bronco springs from bc broncos for my coils part number 51-17200. They were the 6.5 inch with winch coils which has my front sitting at 42.5 inches and rear at 36.5 inches with my 2 inch lift shackles I had just put on lol. My plan right now is getting 3 inch lift blocks to level out the rear and hopefully won't get to much axle wrap and get an explorer 8.8 as the spring perches will add about an extra inch when there welded on. :icon_welder: Buddy of mine told me he has a 1350 transfer case sitting in the backyard so hopefully Ill be getting that soon as well.
