My brake lights went out. Also the upper cab brake light is out. All other lights functioning. Flashers are functioning. Turn signals working. Engine running or key off, no brake lights. I replaced the brake pedal position switch. Checked all fuses. New brake bulbs. Still no brake lights. I am not skilled in electrical sleuthing. Just asking for your experiences with this. (The Haynes manual is almost useless.)

My credo
In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they are different.
Really sounds like the switch on the brake pedal. You say you replaced it. But are you sure it's actually working? I'll need to check a diagram to see where else you need to check.

Lead follow or get out of my way
Brake lamp circuit is hot at all times. Test power into the brake light switch... then test for power out with the pedal depressed. If good... test at the taillamp harness connector in the rear.

You do have a test light... yes?
