Bought another ranger project *more pics and bought axles*

So I bought this ranger last night! The guy was asking $1000 for it last weekend. I asked him to hold it for me until Tuesday for $1100, which was awesome. So I trailered it home to start the repairs and mods!:icon_thumby:

It's a 3.0L V6 5 speed magnaflow exhaust some other goodies 6" lift and 33's on soft 8's. Warn manual hubs and James Duff bumper.

Heck for $1100! I couldn't put new tires on my Diesel for that!

Sure the body is rough, but the motor tranny and transfer are strong. It needs ball joints badly and all the lift tightened up. I ordered new rear leafs for it today, should see them tomorrow. they're trailmaster 3" for $219 shipped! that will eliminate some block and fix the massive spring wrap and rear steer:D And i'm picking up Brand New never mounted 37x13.00xR15 Boggers for $800 later this week.

I was thinking to myself "The body doesn't look that bad..." Then I saw the driver's side. Haha! Nice looking starting point for $1100!

yeah and around here i couldn't even touch a "beat up" 2wd for price.

Besides... I sold my rolled 87 for $900, I'm already 0.1 liter and a d35 ahead of it! Lol.

thanks guys!

AlwysBusted96.. Yeah on the bed bob! probably going the 35's route now with my D30 SAS. A doubler would be sweet, will make plans for it down the line!

alright, here's a small update!

got some 4" explorer lift springs brand new for $220 shipped next day. got those in last night and tightened up all the loose suspension parts. Put some new unbroken tail lights from a 98 ranger in today, removed most of the stickers and finally washed it!

little bit of change of plans....
I'm going to order another set of these explorer leafs for the front. I'm gonna junk these axles, the rear brakes are shot, along with the pinion. Up front is shot too brakes and ball joints and bearings. So I got a guy in Cali that I'm buying a 8.8 disc from already set up with 4.10's and locked along with a D30 4.10 open with leaf perches. Both have new breaks, bearings, seals, and low mileage gears all for under $700. so the tires are gonna wait for a little while.

-Jason

ps, don't worry, I'll be getting rid of the rake soon by bringing the front up!

well I bought axles tonight!!! Payed $500 for all this from a guy off of Craigslist.
Dana 44HP 4.09 gears out of a 78 F250
Dana 60 4.10 same truck.

Front

Rear disassembled

Complete front

Rear end gears need set up still.

u-bolts plates and extra new ball joints.

Complete set of bearings, seals, pistons, for the rear axle.

the rest of the Richmond install kit to finish the gear setup.

The rear axle has the yukons in it, the Richmonds are brand new 4.10's, but the wrong kind i guess?

freshly turned drums and new shoes, along with the parts.

Extra rear carrier

Shafts

Going to get started on this very soon!

I got that same front exact axle about to go into my rig... wrong kind? Are the gears not for a high pinion reverse cut axle or something?

Hey right on!

those gears He ordered are for the rear axle, not sure why they are wrong? I'll inspect them closer later.
