I have this grill guard that I bought off of Craigslist right after I got this truck. I was thinking about adding a winch mount to the front of it. I thought about a front receiver with a removable mount, but people complain that they hang low.

I was looking on Amazon and found a Westin winch plate that was listed as used and marked down to $90 with free shipping. For that price I bought it and figured I'd find a use.

This thing is beefy. It came with beefy frame mounts that are impressive. The winch tray sits on top of the frame mounts.

Now compare those mounting brackets to the flat plate bracket that my grill guard mounts to.

I wish I could incorporate one in to the other, but the winch plate is wider than the spacing of the grill guard. I could add a Westin grill guard to the Westin winch plate, but they're expensive.

So now I'm trying to figure out a direction.

They’ll work fine together... with a little cutting and welding v

Ya after looking at it I think I'd need to cut the ends off the winch plate, the bottom tube out of the grill guard, and then slide the grill guard over and weld them together.

I don't have the welder or the skill, but could probably find a shop that would weld them together after I cut and prepped them.

That plate just might be stronger than your frame. LOL

Nice score. I was just checking out a similar looking winch mount earlier on 4wheelonline.
