This one is kinda comical to me, but I wanted to see if anyone else has had this experience before changing the unit out.

Yesterday I installed a set o Bosch mechanical gauges in my B2 because most of my factory ones are not wired up ATM. I have the same set in my Ranger and love them.

Right away I noticed a tinny rattling noise that hadn't been there before with the engine running. I checked to make sure none of the new parts were hitting anything, they weren't turned the radio up. As I drove around through the day I started noticing a pattern. It is much louder when the oil pressure is above 50 PSI, so cold start, and driving shortly after. At 40 PSI it is much quieter, when the pressure gets below 30, so hot idle or low speeds, the noise is gone.

Anyone ever run into this before? The one in my truck doesn't make this noise.

My credo
In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they are different.
In all my years in industrial maintenance, I don't recall ever noticing a noisy guage.

Only two things I can think to try.

1. With the sending line pressurized, crack the fitting to bleed air out of the line. I would hold a rag around it to minimize the mess

2. Since you have the same set in another vehicle, swap the gauges and see where the noise goes.
