Any Good Guys award is a very distinguished award from a reputable show. Congrats and well deserved. Especially since a hot rod show recognized a 4wd truck. But not just any truck but a Ford Ranger

Yeah the award ceremony was interesting because I was in this caravan of sorts with a Corvette in front of me, and a hot rod behind me. The announcer said something along the lines of 'And this is the first time we've seen a Corvette followed by a Ford Ranger'

I'm an idiot and didn't take a pic of my truck next to the other cars, but here is my ugly mug.

After taking a good look at some of the cars there, I didn't feel so bad about some the imperfections in my paint and body work.

Yeah, it wasn't that long ago they opened it up to have more than just "classics" in the show.

Congrats, the car show world is a tough crowd for a 4x4!

Awesome!! Congratulations! Rangers attract lots of people at car shows. Everyone has seen a million Corvettes, Mustangs, Camaros, and Novas. They've seen as many Rangers...just not any lately...and certainly not many that look good.

No idea, just driving normally. I was on my way to Ace Hardware and heard an initial "clunk", and then a clunk with every revolution of the tires so I turned around and went home. It sounded awful!

That axle with that gear set was in my Bronco II for about 6 years, and then in my Ranger for another 6. No idea on the mileage, but it's been abused on the trails quite a bit behind a 4.0.

Time to finally put an 8.8 in I guess

Weird. Metal fatigue maybe. My first thought was that the cross pin bolt broke off and got jammed in there?

Crosspin bolt still in place and it wasn't the teeth that were ground down a bit to fit the solid pin. Must have been fatigue

gonna do the old two passenger side soft lines and reuse the stock rear Ranger center soft line trick? Knowing you you probably have a lot fancier plan, but I liked the simple route... Especially since I just grabbed a second line and bolted it to the caliper while I was at the junkyard...

I've abused the snot out of the 8.8 in my Ranger, while you are reworking things I definitely suggest welding the axle tube seams to the pumpkin... but if memory serves you're using a traction bar so you'll already be welding in that area :)
